Buying a used vehicle is hard — even when you do everything right.

You can study the listing, read the history report, and take a careful test drive, and a used vehicle can still be hiding something that only shows up after the money changes hands.

That is not a knock on buyers. Sellers do not always know everything about a vehicle, and a history report can only tell you what has been reported to it.

The honest truth is simple and worth sitting with:buying a used vehicle is genuinely hard, and even experienced buyers can miss things — especially the problems that live underneath the vehicle, inside its computers, or behind a fresh detail.
